AsemconnectVietnam - In the eight seven months of this year, Vietnam’s import of corn rose sharply by 129.82 per cent in volume and 84.02 per cent in value over the same period last year to 2,919,323 tons worth of US$ 757,629,320, showed the statistics figures.

Brazil, India, Thailand, Argentina, Cambodia, and Laos were the country’s big corn import markets, leading by Brazil with 1,329,853 tons worth of $ 335,827,857, up by 20 folds in volume and 15 folds in value year – on - year.

It was followed by India with 327,134 tons valued at $ 153,377,412, down by 37.27 per cent in volume and 48.79 per cent in value over the same period last year; Thailand – 92,912 tons worth of $ 46,725,448, up by 457.8 per cent in volume and 86.7 per cent in value.
