Export of fruits and vegetables totaled US$ 174 million in two months
Thursday, March 20,2014AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam earned US$ 68.31 million from export of fruits and vegetables in February of this year, fell by 18.54 per cent over the previous month.However, the figure of the first two months of this year totaled $ 174.06 million, up by 32.2 per cent year – on – year.
According to the Association of Fruits and Vegetables, the country’s export of fruits and vegetables is expected to hit $ 1.2 billion this year.
China was still leading in the list of the country’s main export markets of fruits and vegetables in the first two months of this year with $ 60.12 million, rose sharply by 55.48 per cent year – on – year, and accounted for 34.54 per cent of the total.
It was followed with the U.S - $ 8.78 million; Japan - $ 8.62 million; Thailand - $ 7.2 million; and Russia - $ 5.34 million.
In the first two months of this year, the country’s export of fruits and vegetables to almost all markets saw a sharp increase. The export to Laos rose sharply by 324.96 per cent to $ 0.9 million; to the U.A.E – up by 121.04 per cent to nearly $ 1 million; and to the Netherlands – up by 116.7 per cent to $ 2.43 million.
