Exports of animal feed and materials increased in first 10 months

AsemconnectVietnam - After declining for 2 consecutive months, in October of 2019, Vietnam’s exports of animal feed and raw materials have increased again, up by 20.1 per cent compared to September of 2019 and reached 60.88 million USD.

The figure brought the country’s export turnover of animal feed and raw materials in the first 10 months of 2019 to 577.29 million USD, down by 4 per cent over the same period last year.
The Southeast Asia was the main export market of animal feed and materials of Vietnam, accounting for 34.44 per cent of the proportion with 198.87 million USD, up by 3.88 per cent over the same period last year. Particularly in October of 2019, the country’s exports of animal feed and materials to this market reached 21.45 million USD, up by 1.74 per cent compared to September of 2019 and up by 8.47 per cent compared to October of 2018.

Among the markets importing animal feed and raw materials from Vietnam, China was the key market with 157.75 million USD, however, it decreased by 17.25 per cent over the same period last year. In October of 2019 alone, the country’s exports of animal feed and materials to China increased by 65.95 per cent compared to September of 2019 but decreased by 18, 57 per cent compared to October of 2018.

The next were Cambodia and Malaysia. Accordingly, the exports to Cambodia increased by 7.64 per cent to 83.64 million USD. Particularly in October of 2019, the exports to this market decreased by 3.49 per cent compared to September of 2019 to only 9.28 million USD, but increased by 18.14 per cent compared to October of 2018. The exports to Malaysia in 10 months of 2019 reached 63.42 million USD, up by 11.32 per cent over the same period last year, particularly in October of 2019, the figure reached 7.13 million USD, up by 3.15 per cent compared to September of 2019 and increased by 14.58 per cent compared to October of 2018.

In addition, Vietnam also exported animal feed and materials to other markets such as India, USA, Japan, etc.
In general, in the first 10 months of 2019, Vietnam’s export turnover of animal feed and raw materials to most markets increased, of which exports to Japan increased by 18.91 per cent to 29.29 million USD. In October of 2019, the country also exported to Japan 2.31 million USD worth of animal feed and materials, down by 11.67 per cent compared to September of 2019 and down by 14.07 per cent compared to October of 2018.

In the opposite direction, the exports of animal feed to Thailand market plummeted by 24.74 per cent, equivalent to 18.17 million USD, although in October 2019 exports to Thailand increased 44.88% compared to September 2019 reached 1.8 million USD.
