In October of 2019 alone, the exports of telephones and accessories decreased by 4.0 per cent compared to September of 2019 to only 5.21 billion USD.

Vietnam's phones and components were mainly exported to the EU market, which accounted for 24 per cent of the proportion, but compared to the same period last year, the figure decreased slightly by 6.12 per cent 10.46 billion USD, particularly in October of 2019, the figure increased by 7.61 per cent compared to September of 2019 but decreased by 2.14 per cent compared to October of 2018.

According to the figure of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s exports of telephones and accessories to the US market in the first 10 months of 2019 reached 7.8 billion USD, accounting for 17.72 per cent of the proportion, up by 65.16 per cent over the same period last year. In October alone, the country also exported to the US 790.25 million USD worth of telephones and accessories, down by 7.47 per cent compared to September 2019 but up 38.29 per cent compared to October of 2018.

China ranked second after the US with the export turnover of 6.19 billion USD, but compared with the same period last year, the figure was down by 14.13 per cent. In October of 2019 alone, Vietnam also exported to China 1.53 billion USD worth of telephones and accessories, up by 1.92 per cent compared to September of 2019 and up by 6.33 per cent compared to October of 2018.

In addition to the above mentioned main markets, Vietnam also exported telephones and accessories to other markets such as UAE, South Korea, Thailand, Germany, UK, etc.

In general, in the first 10 months of this year, the country’s exports of phones of all kinds and components to the almost all markets decreased, the number of these markets accounted for 69.44 per cent, of which the exports to Cambodia dropped by 98.79 per cent compared to the same period of 2018, to 226,200 USD. In October of 2019 alone, the exports of telephones and accessories to this market also decreased by 84.59 per cent compared to September of 2019 and by 95.9 per cent compared to October of 2018 to 21,100 USD.

Besides, that exports to Malaysia dropped sharply by 32.28 per cent to 332.92 million USD over the same period last year. In October of 2019 only, the country’s exports of telephones and accessories to Malaysia decreased by 69.62 per cent compared to September of 2019 and decreased by 70.40 per cent compared to October of 2018 to 13.34 million USD.

In the opposite direction, in the first 10 months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of phones and components to Mexico increased significantly by 6.2 times (518.09 per cent) over the same period last year. In October of 2019 alone, the exports of phones and accessories increased by 3.99 per cent compared to September of 2019 and 18 times (corresponding to 1771.28 per cent) compared to October of 2018 reaching 73.22 million USD.

In the first 10 months of 2019, Vietnam also exported phones and accessories to Argentina, Chile, Egypt, Nigeria, etc.
