Vietnam got 200 million USD of surplus in trade exchange with Myanmar

In 2018, the two-way trade between Vietnam and Myanmar reached 860 million USD, Vietnam's investment in Myanmar reached 2.1 billion USD with 18 large projects.
In the first 7 months of 2019, the trade turnover between the two countries reached 549.12 million USD, of which the country’s exports to Myanmar reached 408.37 million USD and the imports from Myanmar was 140.74 million USD. Thus, in the first 7 months of 2019, Vietnam got 267.62 million USD of surplus in trade exchange with Myanmar.
According to the figures from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's exports of goods to Myanmar in the first 7 months of 2019 reached 408.37 million USD, down by 3.97 per cent compared to the same period of 2018. Particularly in July of 2019, Vietnam's exports of goods to Myanmar decreased by 7.17 per cent compared to June of 2019 to 55.71 millionUSD. The figure decreased by 4.24 per cent compared with July of 2018
Vietnam exports to Myanmar mainly groups of transport vehicles, steel products, etc.
Notably, in the first 7 months of 2019 the country exported several new items to Myanmar such as: electric wires and cables, textile and garment materials, leather and telephone and accessories, pepper, coffee.
In particular, Myanmar increased the imports of chemicals from Vietnam, although the value was only 1.78 million USD, but increased by 43.57 per cent.
