Imports of milk and dairy products increased in eight months

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam imported US$88.6 million worth of milk and dairy products in August and $670.8 million in the first eight months of this year, increased slightly by 3.7 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam imported milk and dairy products mostly from New Zealand with the import value of $222.3 million, increased sharply by 47.27 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 33.1 per cent of the total.

The imports of milk and dairy products from the South East Asian countries reached $152.8 million, down by 6.08 per cent; from the EU countries - $124 million, down by 19.76 per cent.
Meanwhile, the imports of milk and dairy products from Ireland fell by 43.18 per cent to $10.8 million.
