US$ 12.3 billion worth of goods imported from Japan

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam imported US% 12.3 billion worth of goods from Japan in the first eight months of this year, increased by 17.92 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Machines, equipment and spare parts was the leading item imported by the country from Japan in the first eight months of this year, accounted for 44 per cent of the total quantity and 24 per cent of the total value with $2.9 billion, up by 3.37 per cent year – on – year.
It was followed by computers, electronics and components with $2.5 billion, up by 37.63 per cent; iron and steel of all kinds – 1.5 million tons worth of over $1 billion, up by 3.16 per cent in quantity and 21.57 per cent in value year – on – year.
Especially, in the first eight months of this year, Vietnam imported 14,600 tons of coal worth of over $5 million only, but it rocketed by 46.55 times or 45.553.13 per cent in quantity and 12.6 times or 11.609.32 per cent in value over the same period last year.
