Student Festival leaves Vietnam impression in Italy
Thursday, May 10,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnamese students has held a two-day festival in the southern Italy city of Palermo, which attracted more than 100 participants.
Running on May 5 and 6 under the sponsor of the Vietnam Embassy in Italy and University of Palermo, the event featured football matches among universities, a Vietnamese Cultural Day event, and a music talent contest.
On May 6, Mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando and Vietnamese Ambassador Cao Chinh Thien attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Cultural Day, which presented the country’s image through pictures and traditional cuisine.
At the event, Ambassador Thien said amid the fruitful growth of Vietnam – Italy relations, educational engagements need to be stepped up and each Vietnamese student in Italy should make efforts to become an ambassador of Vietnam.
Professor Eleonora Riva Sanseverino from the University of Palermo said Vietnamese students have diversified Palermo’s culture and contributed to the growth of Vietnam – Italy cultural ties.
The annual festival offers a playground for overseas Vietnamese students in Italy to meet and exchange information and knowledge, and support each other in life and study while connecting Vietnamese culture with international ones.
