Vietnam promoted to Davis Cup Group II
Monday, April 9,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam has been promoted to Davis Cup, Asia/Oceania Zone Group II in 2019.
The Vietnamese team defeated Qatar 3-0 in the play-off match of Davis Cup, Asia/Oceania Zone Group III, which took place on April 7.
Both Trinh Linh Giang and Ly Hoang Nam won 2-0 against their rivals in the two men’s singles matches. In the men’s doubles, Pham Minh Tuan and Le Quoc Khanh secured their victory after two sets.
Before the game, Vietnam topped Group A with three wins against Pacific Oceania, Cambodia and Malaysia. Qatar was the runners-up of Group B with two wins and one loss.
Kuwait has also been promoted to Group II alongside Vietnam after beating Malaysia 2-0.
