Vietnamese athlete wins gold at Asian gymnastics champs
Tuesday, May 23,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnamese gymnast Le Thanh Tung bagged a gold medal in the men’s pole vault at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2017, which concluded in Thailand on May 21.
Tung scored 14.563 points at the final and won the first gold for Vietnam’s men gymnastics at the event. Previously, he also won a gold medal at the Qatar World Cup in March.
Later, Dinh Phuong Thanh pocketed a bronze medal in the men’s parallel bars.
With one gold and one bronze, Vietnam finished third in the overall medals tally.
China dominated the event with 11 gold and eight silver medals, while Japan came second with two golds and one bronze.
