Bai Bang Paper Company provides environment friendly products for customer

 Friday, October 26,2018

AsemconnectVietnam - Knowing that producing paper is a sensitive sector to environment, Bai Bang Paper Company, a member of Vietnam Paper Corporation, has applied modern technologies for enterprise development.

The company is situated in Phong Chau Town, Phu Ninh District, Phu Tho Province. Around the plant, there is no discharged wastewater from the production process which creates high pollution and unpleasant odors, especially in waste water from pulp washing stages.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – engineer of the company, the plant’s management board has managed to handle the emissions, wastewater, and solid waste discharged into the environment. In 2003, the board invested in an advanced technology system for wastewater treatment. Thanks to this, nearly 20.000cu.m wastewater per day from the mill has been collected and treated thoroughly through a centralized processing system both chemically and biologically.
Recently, the plant invested in a microbiological wastewater treatment system capable of treating the entire mill’s 30,000cu.m of wastewater per day from the production process before being discharged into the environment.
The black liquor discharged from the pulp washing and cooking stages is separated to cycle back and put into kilns to recover chemicals, which produce electricity and steam for production. This process saves both chemicals and power for paper making process, while reducing up to 90 percent of the gas emission into the environment. According to the plant’s statistics, the collected and treated black liquor can produce power amount meeting 25-30 percent energy need for the production process.
Besides, the plant is conducting a new investment in a boiler incineration to thoroughly handle the solid waste (bark and sawdust), and generate steam needed for production process.
The company always combines paper production with environment protection and considers it as a key target in promoting environmentally friendly technologies. “In fact, while many other paper plants are dealt with litigation matters of waste discharge to the environment, the plant is moving forwards thanks to application of modern waste treatment technologies that help it improve economic benefits and worker health, contributing to consolidating the company’s prestige in the paper market,” Thanh added.
