 Friday, August 24,2018

AsemconnectVietnam - Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) today, August 22, with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, international cooperation agency GIZ and LILAMA 2 International Technology College to establish a public-private partnership on a project titled, “Integrating Requirements Resulting from Industry 4.0 in TVET in Vietnam.”

With a total investment of more than 400,000 euros for three years, the project is one of the bilateral activities of the Vietnamese-German development cooperation in the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector.
The objective of the partnership is to build cooperation to jointly work on integrating the requirements of the growing technological changes, resulting from the fourth industrial revolution and digitalization, into human resource development in Vietnam.
The cooperation is aimed at contributing to the development of TVET in Vietnam to realize the goal of making Vietnam an industrialized country by 2020.
Of the total capital, Bosch will contribute more than 200,000 euros to the project to establish a demonstration room at LILAMA 2, with advanced equipment in line with Industry 4.0 requirements, in addition to conducting a demand analysis on skills and supporting LILAMA 2 in adapting its training programs. Meanwhile, GIZ’s contribution will amount to some 200,000 euros to support its partners in coordinating activities, organizing professional workshops, providing further training for teachers and evaluating the project results.
The project will first be executed at LILAMA 2 and will then be expanded to other vocational training institutions under the support of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training.
“The demand for a highly skilled workforce in Vietnam continues to increase, and thus, this strategic partnership is a critical step in upgrading the skills of the labor force to stay competitive,” said Guru Mallikarjuna, managing director of Bosch Vietnam.
Speaking at the MOU signing ceremony, Dr. Jürgen Hartwig, program director of Reform of TVET in Vietnam at GIZ, said that GIZ supports its partners in adjusting vocational training offers according to the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution, while Bosch, as a leading Internet of Things company, is an ideal partner to help develop modern and up-to-date training programs that reflect the demands of the business sector and enhance the competitive ability of Vietnam in a globalized economy.
“The trainees who take part in the modernized training programs at LILAMA 2 will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills reflecting the latest technological developments and, thus, improve their chances of being employed,” said Nguyen Khanh Cuong, rector of LILAMA 2 College.
