ACV proposes airport transit station in downtown HCMC

AsemconnectVietnam - Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has proposed the Ministry of Transport build a transit station in downtown HCMC to help passengers save money and ease traffic congestion on streets leading to Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

The station is proposed to be developed at the corner of Cach Mang Thang Tam and Nguyen Du streets, which is eight kilometers from the airport, reported Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.

According to a plan approved by the HCMC government, the station will be connected to the second station of the city's second urban railway linking Thu Thiem New Urban Area in District 2, Ben Thanh Market in District 1 and Tham Luong Depot in District 12, as well as Thu Thiem-Long Thanh light railway up to Long Thanh international airport, which is under construction in Dong Nai Province.

Passengers will complete check-in procedures in the city center before proceeding to the airport.

If the proposal is approved, project investor Indochina Group will work with the relevant agencies to complete the legal procedures.
