 Tuesday, February 20,2018

AsemconnectVietnam - AkzoNobel, a world-leading paint and coating manufacturer, with Dulux and Maxilite product lines, accompanies a wall painting project featuring the beauty of the sea and islands in Vietnam with the theme “Fresco for the Future”, helping restore the appearance of Canh Duong fishing village in Quang Binh Province after storm number 10 in September 2017.

“Fresco for the Future” is a profound humanity activity that attracts the participation of professional artists and young artists to paint 30 3D-styled frescoes with a variety of themes, showing the special features in the geographical culture. The project will contribute to promoting the beauty of the sea and islands in Vietnam, as well as the potential of local tourism, combining the preservation of the local cultural heritage with modern frescoes.
Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of GIUN9 Art Center, said: “The “Fresco for the Future” project is a unique initiative which not only helps refresh the appearance of Canh Duong fishing village but also contributes to boosting local economy because Canh Duong is a land with nearly 400 years of history and has many interesting sights with the featured culture such as the Whale Temple and Ancestral House. We are so delighted to be accompanied by AkzoNobel Vietnam. AkzoNobel’s contributions inspire artists to create colorful and lively frescoes for Canh Duong fishing village.”
Pamela Phua, General Manager of AkzoNobel Paint Vietnam, said“At AkzoNobel, sustainability is business and business is sustainability. Accompanying the “Fresco for the Future” project reflects AkzoNobel’s commitment and efforts to provide optimal solutions for improving human well-being, as well as confirming the leading position of AkzoNobel in activities that orient to the sustainable development of the community.”
The “Fresco in the Future” project will bring new wind to Canh Duong fishing village, in particular, and Quang Binh Province, in general, turning the devastated land into a colorful paradise to attract domestic and foreign visitors to come here for traveling, relaxing, enjoying seafood and contemplating beautul landscapes in the countryside. With the spirit oriented to a sustainable community, AkzoNobel will continue working with organizations in Vietnam to bring more practical and meaningful projects to improve local people’s lives.
So far, artists have completed more than 20 vibrant frescoes and are working hard to accomplish the remainder for the project to complete in early March 2018.
