ANZ Vietnam to close retail services
Friday, December 15,2017AsemconnectVietnam - ANZ Vietnam will stop providing retail services for customers from December 15 as it has sold its retail business in Vietnam to Shinhan Bank Vietnam, according to Kinh Te Do Thi news website.
From 5 p.m. on December 15, the bank will close services for Visa debit and ANZ credit cards, including all local and overseas ATM cash withdrawal, POS and online transactions, and SMS Banking service.
ANZ’s ATMs will be closed gradually from December 11 to December 15, while ANZ internet banking service will be closed at 8 p.m. on December 14.
From 12 p.m. on December 15, ANZ will no longer accept loan or credit card payment. If retail customers are due to pay their credit card bills or monthly installments on December 15, they are advised to complete the payment no later than December 14.
ANZ Vietnam suggested customers make early cash withdrawals, payments and transfers. From December 18, customers can come to Shinhan’s branches and transaction offices for services.
ANZ said services for retail customers will be kept unchanged when they are transferred to Shinhan.
Loan and credit card services, and promotional programs shall not be changed until further notice from Shinhan.

The bank has also sold its wealth management and retail banking business in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia to DBS Bank Ltd (DBS).
