Friday, April 28,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Established in 27th May 2002, PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PV Trans) was entrusted to provide maritime transportation and services to the oil and gas industry in Viet Nam and abroad.
PV Trans is presently owned by a major shareholder (60%) being Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and the corporation’s stock is now listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE).
Through years of operation and in response to the market’s demands, PV Trans is further developing a modern fleet of crude oil tankers, product tankers, LPG carriers, offshore support vessels contributing to the oil and gas industries in Vietnam and region. PV Trans has therefore got a foothold in the international market and our stable customer base includes companies such as Shell, Exxon Mobil, BP, LG, Caltex, Petronas, Chevron, and Woodside etc.

In recent years, PVTrans’ fleet has loaded, transported and discharged millions tons of cargo for most oil majors and traders without incidents, in the most cost-efficient manner achievable without compromising safety or the environment.
Commercially, a profitable future for the company is projected through the operation of an existing modern fleet combined with the new ships of Aframax type. PVTrans also plans to further develop via a portfolio of new ships, such as VLCC and Suezmax oil tankers for serving new oil refining industry in Vietnam as well as expand our international transportation market.
With the backing of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), PV Trans has the ambition to become the first regional choice for crude oil and petroleum transportation.
As strategic business, PVTrans is developing a fleet of oil product tankers including MR tankers of 40,000 – 50,000 DWT for international transportation and smaller tankers to serve domestic market and oil refineries in Vietnam.
PV Trans is committed via efficient management and operation ability as well as the financial resources available to carry out the mission assigned by PetroVietnam to undertake most oil product transportation for oil refineries in Vietnam and to increase the international oil product transportation market share.
For time being, PV Trans is strengthening co-operation with domestic and international partners with the aim of establishing tailor-made joint oil product transportation companies in order to strengthen worldwide operation and services.
As the only oil and gas transportation provider of PetroVietnam, PVTrans is assigned to develop gas products and chemical transportation services to meet the increasing demand of the national economy and the international market.
Currently, in cooperation with other PetroVietnam’s subsidiaries, PVTrans now owns a Gas Shipping Company to operate and charter a fleet of LPG carriers. The company plans to acquire more tankers to expand the fleet up to 10 LPG carriers by 2015. In addition, PV Trans is as well co-operating with PVGas and PVPower to prepare for the import, transportation, storage, sales and distribution of LNG and CNG in Vietnam.
In combination with the development of a petrochemical and chemical industry in Vietnam, PVTrans plans to develop and expand its fleet including carriers for chemicals such as Propylene, Ammoniac (NH3), VCM, tar, etc.
Being a subsidiary of PetroVietnam and having technical marine knowledge, PVTrans is assigned to provide miscellaneous marine petroleum technical services. The offshore technical services include FPSO/FSO services, offshore support vessels, marine survey, offshore fabrication, transportation, installation, maintenance and repair as well as manpower supply etc.
In order to cater for the booming oil and gas exploration and production activity in Vietnam, PV Trans has developed an extensive network of partnerships. This contributes to our fast response times and access to wide pool of external resources and expertise.
