Small enterprises of Vietnam grow the fastest in the region
Monday, March 6,2017AsemconnectVietnam - The survey on Asia-Pacific small enterprises announced by the global accounting body CPA Australia on February 28th 2017 showed that small enterprises of Vietnam are among the enterprises having the fastest and most confident growth in the region. Accordingly, 89 percent of small enterprises reported growth in the last 12 months and 94 percent of them expected growth in the next 12 months.
The results also pointed out that 86 of the small enterprises hoped that the economy of Vietnam will develop in the next 12 months. These impressive numbers helped Vietnam rank the second only after Indonesia in the group of eight surveyed markets, and have higher positions than Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.
The survey found out that the growing small enterprises in the region are likely to significantly focus on innovation, e-commerce, social media, training, and export.
Managing director of CPA Australia Alex Malley said that small enterprises in Vietnam strongly pay attention to the dynamics of growth. According to representative of CPA Australia, Vietnam’s economy is developing and small enterprises in Vietnam have considerably contributed to that growth, adding that small enterprises in Vietnam are extrovert, confident and optimistic and they are demonstrating all the characteristics of a fast-growing region.
The growth and confidence stated in the report is also reflected in the recruitment figures with 54 percent of small enterprises increased employment in 2016 and 71 percent of them expected to recruit more staff in the next years.
According to Malley, the potential for small enterprises in Vietnam is particularly great and he hoped to see further growth of these units. Malley believed that some enterprises of Vietnam have the potential to become large multinational corporations in the future.
Vietnam also performed well in terms of grasping the opportunities of the digital economy. In particular, 86 percent of respondents said that they generated revenue from online sales and 92 percent of them used social media for business purpose.
The survey also showed increase in the number of small enterprises expecting to introduce a new product, service or a process, in which, 31 percent of enterprises mentioned about this intention, up by 26 percent compared to the previous survey.
According to CPA Australia’s Managing director, as recognising the importance of small enterprises to the economy of Vietnam, policies of the government are providing necessary environment for small enterprises to grow rapidly.
The survey on Asia-Pacific small enterprises of CPA Australia provides an annual assessment in the evaluation of small enterprises. It is carried out in eight markets across the region. This is the seventh year it has been done.
