Thaco, LS Mtron partner to produce farming machines
Wednesday, February 1,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Truong Hai Auto Joint Stock Co. (Thaco) and LS Mtron Ltd, a machinery arm of South Korean conglomerate LS Group, inked a cooperation agreement on the manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery in Quang Nam Province on January 17.
In phase two, the project will expand its production capacity to export its products to foreign markets.
The move is in line with Thaco’s development strategy to turn itself into a multi-sector group, with a focus on mechanical engineering and automotive industries.
The enterprise will produce specialized machines for use in a closed value chain from cultivation, harvest and transport to processing and distribution.
LS Mtron has been in farming machinery manufacturing business since 1977. At present, its tractors with LS brand hold the largest market share in Korea, with a major trading system in the U.S., and plants in Brazil and China.
LS Mtron has shipped tractors to over 40 countries, including 12,000 machines to the North American market, one of the world’s largest agricultural machinery markets.
