Beer enterprises plan to reduce profits sharply

AsemconnectVietnam - Under the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic as well as the Decree 100/2019/ND-CP stipulating the sanctioning of administrative violations in the field of transport when drinking and driving, many beer companies plan to business this year with a sharp drop in profit.

For example, Saigon-Western Beer Joint Stock Company (WSB), 51 percent owned by Sabeco, plans to produce and consume 128 million liters of beer in 2020, a decrease of 5-6 percent year on year. Accordingly, the revenue is expected to decrease by 7 percent to VND 967 billion and the profit after tax decrease by 31 percent to VND 112 billion.
Similarly, Hanoi - Nam Dinh Beer Joint Stock Company (BBM) plans to produce 5.2 million liters of draft beer, down 18 percent; turnover of 54.6 billion dong, down 12 percent; Pre-tax profit of 1.9 billion dong, down 32 percent. Hanoi - Hai Duong Beer Joint Stock Company (HAD) expects beer output of 26.1 million liters, down 11 percent; turnover of 140.2 billion dong, down 12 percent; profit after tax of 3.3 billion, down 67percent.
Saigon Beer - Wine Joint Stock Company - Dong Xuan (BSD), a subsidiary of Sabeco, estimated sales volume of 35 million liters, up 10 percent; revenue of 314.7 billion dong, up 3 percent; 9.5 billion dong of the profit after tax, down by 27 percent.
