Vietnamese firm helps Laos combat COVID-19

AsemconnectVietnam - A representative of Sekaman 1 Power company, an affiliate of the Vietnam-Laos Power Company, has handed over US$30,000 to a senior Lao official to help the country combat the novel coronavirus epidemic.

The company is aware of its responsibility towards joining hands with the Lao government and people in the fight against the COVID-19 which is spreading and exerting a great impact on people worldwide and those in Laos, Dinh Ngoc Diep, chief representative of the Vietnam-Laos Power Company told Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somdy Duangdy in Vientiane on April 1.
Diep thanked the Lao government for providing support and creating favourable conditions for the company to better its operations in the country over the years.
The Lao Deputy PM spoke highly of the Vietnam-Laos Power Company’s high sense of responsibility towards Lao people’s social security programme, which he said is a vivid manifestation of the close bonds between the two peoples. He assured his guest that the money will be used efficiently for the fight against the coronavirus in Laos.
The Lao official also hailed Vietnam’s epidemic prevention measures and expressed his belief that the Vietnamese government and people will soon stamp out the epidemic.
