HGS: Better than the best

AsemconnectVietnam - The Hanoi Ground Services Joint Stock Company (HGS) considers the punctuality of flights and the quality of passenger service as major and decisive factors for its development.

Innovation for development
HGS was established in July 2007. Initially, with a 60-member staff and limited equipment, the company served only one airline with four flights per day. Today, HGS has a staff of nearly 1,000 members and serves 56 customer airlines. It has become the most comprehensive ground service provider at the Noi Bai International Airport. HGS has strengthened its position in the Vietnamese ground handling service market.
HGS Deputy General Director Vu Trung Thanh told Vietnam Economic News reporters that as soon as it was restructured, the company had improved step by step the service process, as well as the process of coordination with related units. HGS has built its professional image in the eyes of passengers, as well as foreign customer airlines using its services.
Since it officially began to operate in the form of a joint stock company in 2015, HGS has taken the initiative in upgrading its equipment and developing its human resources to provide the most comprehensive ground handling services at the Noi Bai International Airport for domestic and international airlines.
Currently, HGS has signed contracts to provide ground services for world-leading airlines, such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines and FedEx.
HGS has built and strengthened its reputation as a reliable ground handling service provider complying with the industry standards set by the International Air Transport Association, applicable regulations of the state, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) and customized requirements of customer airlines.
With more than 10 years of experience in ground handling, HGS has successfully registered the industry ISAGO (IATA Safety Audits for Ground Operations), EU RA3 validation, and renewed the ISO9001 quality management certification.
According to Vu Trung Thanh, to become a professional provider of ground services, HGS has paid special attention to developing its human resources. Its employees have been recruited carefully and provided with intensive training. The company has also upgraded its equipment. It has purchased specialized types of equipment made by major manufacturers such as TLD, Trepel, Toyota, Tug-Stewart & Stevenson. In 2017, HGS became the first Vietnamese company to use a Schopf 396C aircraft tug made in Germany, which is capable to tow airplanes up to A380. The company is confident of its ability to serve all types of customers at the Noi Bai International Airport, even the most discerning ones.
Customer satisfaction
HGS has received many letters of compliments from its customers. The company has been praised for the good behavior of its service staff, as well as their active support for customers.
In the first six months of 2018, HGS served 31,176 flights, 15 percent more than in the first half of 2017, with on-time performance (OTP) index reaching 99.9 percent. This was the result of great efforts by all staff members of the company. In 2017 and 2018, HGS was chosen to serve special flights carrying high-ranking leaders of other countries to Vietnam, such as the US President, the French President, the Indian Prime Minister, and prioritized flights.
With its slogan “Better than the best”, HGS has made great efforts and will continue striving to meet and exceed customer expectations.
