Deputy PM applauds RoK’s new visa policy for Vietnam

 Thursday, November 29,2018

AsemconnectVietnam - Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung was appreciative of the Republic of Korea’s new visa policy for Vietnamese citizens at a reception for the RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Do-hyon in Hanoi on November 28.

Under the policy, permanent residents of major cities- Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang-will be qualified for C-3 visas from early December next year.
C-3 visa holders can stay in the RoK for up to 30 days with no restrictions on the number of tours for five years.
Deputy PM Dung attributed the RoK’s decision to strengthened political trust, strategic partnership, and the sound relationship between the two nations.
The policy will help intensify people-to-people exchange, he said, while hoping that more people in other Vietnamese localities will be eligible for long-term visas to the RoK in the near future.

Ambassador Kim, in turn, said both nations boast huge potential for the enhancement of cooperation, and expressed his confidence in stronger strategic partnership between Vietnam and RoK in the time to come.
The new visa policy is part of the RoK Government’s plan to further step up comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, he said, adding that increased people-to-people exchange between the two countries has considerably contributed to fostering bilateral relations over the past years.
The RoK is among leading foreign investors in Vietnam with more than 7,300 projects on a wide range of sectors in 55 localities throughout the nation. Not few leading Korean economic groups regard Vietnam as a destination for developing regional production centres with connection to global value chains, the diplomat said.
