“Top Thai Brands” exhibition offers opportunities to Vietnamese, Thai businesses
Friday, May 11,2018AsemconnectVietnam - The “Top Thai Brands 2018” exhibition opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City on May 10, drawing 216 exhibitors with showcases of products across 254 stands.
The event includes two main parts: the first taking place over the first two days for business connectivity between the two sides, and the second being open to the public from May 10-13, giving Vietnamese customers the chance to sample high quality products and services from Thailand.
At the opening ceremony, Nguyen Van Nga, a representative from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said there has been a strong expansion of investment and trade activities of Thai businesses in Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese businesses’ activities in Thailand over recent years. Therefore, the exhibition is expected to present an excellent opportunity for investors, producers, and businesses of both sides to meet and expand their collaborative ties. It also serves as a bridge to strengthen cooperation and the sound friendly relations between the two countries’ business communities and customers.
Ureerat Ratanaprukse, Thai Consul General to Vietnam, said the official visit of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Thailand last August aided the significant progress seen in bilateral ties between the two countries, particularly in economic cooperation. Two-way trade hit US$15 billion, while registered investment capital reached US$9.3 billion, which demonstrates Thai businesses’ trust in Vietnam’s economic growth.
Over the past two years, the Thai Consulate General has organized many activities to connect the businesses of both countries and to help equip Thai businesses with the requisite knowledge and information for operating in Vietnam while keeping in line with its regulations and laws, she said.
