Prime Minister greets Iranian diplomat
Thursday, May 25,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 24 hosted a reception for Iranian Ambassador to Vietnam Saleh Adibi, during which he called on Iran to make it easy for Vietnamese firms to expand investment in the Islamic nation.
He said he hopes the ambassador will contribute to further strengthening all-around ties between the two countries.
For his part, Saleh Adibi appreciated the Vietnamese Government’s positive reforms in many fields, especially in trade and investment, saying that his country wishes to further boost the traditional friendship between the two nations.
He called for cooperation between the two countries in banking with the establishment of a joint committee to boost this link, adding that he hopes two-way trade will hit US$2 billion by 2020.
The ambassador also suggested the two sides step up collaboration in tourism, science, technology and agriculture.
Agreeing with the suggestion of the diplomat, PM Phuc said the two nations need to continue boosting the exchange of all-level visits, thus enhancing the political and diplomatic ties, and early realising the US$2-billion trade target by 2020.
He hoped for stronger cooperation between the two nations in agriculture, oil and gas.
In the upcoming meeting of the Vietnam-Iran Inter-governmental Committee, Vietnam will propose strong measures to promote bilateral trade and investment links, facilitating banks’ participation in the process, he said.
He also asked for coordination between the two countries’ authorised agencies in improving administrative procedures to facilitate the travel of their tourists.
