NA Chairwoman receives Governor of Japanese prefecture
Saturday, February 18,2017AsemconnectVietnam - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan hosted a reception for a delegation from the Japanese prefecture of Gunma led by Governor Masaaki Osawa in Ha Noi on February 16.
At the reception the NA leader expressed her wish that the two countries’ friendship parliamentary groups will actively facilitate the exchange of delegations between localities and further promote ties between Vietnamese and Japanese parliamentarians.
Ngan told the delegates that Viet Nam is preparing for the upcoming visit by the Japanese Emperor and Empress which will help enforce ties between the two nations.
As the extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia between Viet Nam and Japan is growing, the prefecture businesses’ and parliamentarians’ visits to Viet Nam to explore opportunities are extremely practical, contributing to fostering ties between the two peoples, Ngan said, adding that she wishes localities will further enhance their cooperation ties.
She asked the Gunma Governor to make it easier for the reception of more Vietnamese technical trainees to the prefecture.
Currently, nearly 3,000 Vietnamese people are living and working in Gunma, including 1,088 trainees.
In turn, Osawa briefed his host that Gunma has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Viet Nam Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to boost bilateral relations and worked with authorities of Ho Chi Minh City to bolster ties between their business communities.
Last year, seven Gunma firms started their operations in Viet Nam, raising the total number of Gunma businesses in Viet Nam to 27.
The Governor also suggested devising a detailed plan to help more Vietnamese trainees work for Japanese firms in Viet Nam after they return home.
