PM meets international media on fringes of WEF 2017
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has affirmed that Viet Nam always welcomes international media to the country to cover its development and global integration.
Meeting the foreign media on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2017 in Davos, Switzerland the PM spoke on the Vietnamese government’s determination to build a transparent and constructive cabinet in service of the people and businesses.  
The PM reiterated that Viet Nam always endeavoursto develop an open and transparent business environment, making it easier for foreign enterprises to do business in the country, adding that Viet Nam attaches importance to social welfare in tandem with economic growth, social progress and justice and environment protection. 
On the occasion, he invited the international media to cover activities of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Year hosted by Vietnam this year in Vietnam, contributing to popularisingVietnam and its people to the world.
New Year meeting for foreign embassies, foreign news agencies
The Foreign Ministry hosted a New Year meeting with foreign embassies and foreign media agencies in Viet Nam in Ha Noi on January 19.
Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc lauded the role of foreign diplomats and media workers in promoting cultural exchange, mutual understanding and friendship between Vietnam and other countries. 
 
The Deputy Minister stated that the Foreign Ministry will continue supporting foreign media agencies’ activities in Vietnam and strengthening cooperation for practical outcomes. 
VN, India mark diplomatic ties in New Delhi
The Embassy of Viet Nam in India held a ceremony in New Delhi to mark 45 years of Viet Nam – India diplomatic ties (January 7) and to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
The event was attended by India’s Minister of State for External Affairs Mobashar Jawed Akbar, representatives from the host country’s ministries, sectors and parliament, and the Embassies of the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Cuba and Bhutan in India, among others.
The Vietnamese diplomat expressed his belief that the Vietnam – India partnership will continue growing for peace, stability, cooperation, common wealth and development in Asia-Pacific and the world.
Jetstar Pacific to lauch Da Nang - Hong Kong route
Low-budget carrier Jetstar Pacific announced on January 18 that it will launch its first service fromDa Nang to Hong Kong (China) on March 27 using Airbus A320s.
This is the third international route of the airline fromDa Nang, with previous services connecting the city with Singapore and Taipei in Taiwan (China).
HN, HCM City among world’s top 10 dynamic cities
The City Momentum Index (CMI) 2017 published recently by Jones Lang LaSalle, a global real estate service firm, has named Viet Nam’s Ha Noi and Ho chi Minh City among the top 10 dynamic cities in the world.
This is the first time that Vietnamese cities have been present in the leading group of CMI. As assessed by Jones Lang LaSalle, this positive result is attributed to their low cost of living, strongly growing consumption market and foreign direct investment (FDI) growth.
VN attends ASEAN Tourism Forum in Singapore
Themed – Shaping Our Tourism Journey Together –Asian Tourism Forum 2017 (January 16-20) – aims to support the collective effort by ASEAN members to address the challenges of growing the tourism industry in the region.
At the event, Vietnamese representatives are sharing updates on the county’s latest destination news, goals, partnerships and service innovations at a pavilion manned by the Travex Travel Agency./.
