Vietnam, Cambodia open four more border gates
Tuesday, June 28,2016AsemconnectVietnam - The governments of Vietnam and Cambodia have agreed to open four more border gates between Tay Ninh Province in Vietnam and Svay Rieng Province in Cambodia, according to an official announcement.
Pham Van Tan, chair of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, said the new border gates will be located at Vam Trang Trau in Bien Gioi Village, Long Phuoc in Long Phuoc Village, Phuoc Chi in Trang Bang District and Hoa Hiep in Tan Bien District.
The new border gates will bring the number of entry points for road transport between the provinces from two to six.
Chairman Tan said the move comes as a result of much greater demand for cargo transportation between the two countries. Opening these border gates will also help better combat crime, illegal immigration, human trafficking, and terrorism.
