US$ 11.8 billion worth of textiles and garments exported to U.S
Friday, January 20,2017AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam earned US$ 28.3 billion from exports of textiles and garments in 2016, increased slightly by only 5.7 per cent over the year of 2015, according to Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas).
The country’s exports of textiles and garments to some key markets saw decrease. The exports to the U.S increased by only 5.8 per cent to $ 11.8 billion.
Meanwhile, the exports to the EU reached $ 3.7 billion, up by 6.3 per cent; to Japan – up by 5.4 per cent to $ 3.1 billion; and to South Korea – up by 5.1 per cent to $ 2.6 billion.
The country’s exports of textiles and garments to the U.S reached nearly $ 11.3 billion in 2015; $ 9.8 billion in 2014 and $ 8.61 billion in 2012.
