Major commodities exported in first 10 months

AsemconnectVietnam - The major commodities exported by the country in October and the first 10 months of 2015 included:

Cell phones and accessories: Vietnam exported $ 2.67 billion worth of cell phones and accessories in October and $ 25.67 billion in the first 10 months of this year, up by 31.8 per cent compared with the same months of 2014.

The main export markets of cell phones and accessories in the period were EU with over $ 8.55 billion, up by 22.7 per cent year – on – year; the U.A.E with $ 3.89 billion, up by 24.6 per cent; the U.S - $ 2.28 billion, up by 105.7 per cent; Hong Kong - $ 1.22 billion, up by 75.8 per cent; and South Korea - $ 1.19 billion, up by over 4 times.

Computers, electronic products and components: Vietnam earned $ 12.81 billion from export of computers, electronic products and components in the first 10 months of this year, up by 44.7 per cent compared with the same months of 2014.

The major export markets of computers, electronic products and components in the period were the EU with $ 2.58 billion, up by 51.3 per cent year – on – year; the U.S - $ 2.34 billion, up by 42.2 per cent; China - $ 2.14 billion, up by 23.1 per cent; and Hong Kong - $ 1.43 billion, up by 108.4 per cent.

Machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts: The country earned nearly $ 774 million from export of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts in October and $ 6.65 billion in the first 10 months of this year, up by 9.5 per cent and 9.4 per cent, respectively over the same period last year.

The main export markets of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts in the first 10 months of this year were the U.S with $ 1.33 billion, up by 26.5 per cent year – on – year; Japan – $ 1.16 billion, down by 3 per cent; China – nearly $ 587 million, up by 19.1 per cent over the same period of 2014.

Textiles and garments: The country exported nearly $ 1.98 billion worth of textiles and garments in October and $ 18.95 billion in the first 10 months of this year, down by 7.4 per cent and up by 9 per cent, respectively year – on - year.

The leading export markets of textiles and garments in the first 10 months of this year were the U.S with $ 9.51 billion, up by 12.3 per cent year – on – year; EU - $ 2.8 billion, up by 3.5 per cent; and Japan - $ 2.28 billion, up by 5.6 per cent.

Footwear of all kinds: The export of footwear of all kinds totaled $ 959 million in October and $ 9.7 billion in the first 10 months of this year, down by 18.7 per cent and 17 per cent, respectively year – on - year.

The country’s top export markets of footwear of all kinds in the first 10 months of this year were the EU with $ 3.24 billion, up by 12.6 per cent year – on – year; China –$ 611 million, up by 43.4 per cent; and Japan – $ 489 million, up by 12.6 per cent.

Yarns of all kinds: Vietnam exported 80,000 tons of yarns of all kinds worth of $ 208 million in October, up by 1.1 per cent in quantity and 0.3 per cent in value month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of yarns in the first 10 months of this year to 796,000 tons valued at $ 2.12 billion, up by 12.9 per cent in quantity and by 0.4 per cent in value over the same period of 2014.

In the first 10 months of this year, the country’s export of yarns of all kinds to China hit 412,000 tons, up by 30.9 per cent; to South Korea – 60,400 tons, up by 7.9 per cent; and to Turkey – 79,000 tons, down by 13.3 per cent year – on - year.

Handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas: The country’s export of handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas was at nearly $ 229 million in October, down by 0.4 per cent month – on – month. The figure of the first 10 months was $ 2.4 billion, up by 14.3 per cent year – on - year.

In the first 10 months of this year, the country’s export of handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas to the U.S reached over $ 1 billion, up by 15.8 per cent; to EU – $ 616 million, up by 12.8 per cent; to Japan – $ 253 million, up by 9.8 per cent over the same period of 2014.

Wood and furniture: The country’s export of wood and furniture hit $ 634.5 million in October, up by 12.6 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of wood and furniture in the first 10 months of this year to $ 5.54 billion, up by 9.1 per cent year – on - year.

By the end of October, the country’s export of wood and furniture to the U.S reached $ 2.15 billion, up by 18 per cent; to Japan - $ 832 million, up by 5.1 per cent; and to China - $ 740 million, equal to the same period last year.

Crude oil: The country’s export of crude oil reached 761,000 tons valued at $ 276 million in October and nearly 7.7 million tons worth of $ 3.26 billion in the first 10 months of this year, down by 48.3 per cent over the same period last year.

The country’s major export markets of crude oil were China with 1.47 million tons, up by 10.8 per cent; Singapore – 1.36 million tons, up by 3 times; Japan – 1.23 million tons, down by 27.2 per cent; Malaysia – 1.29 million tons, up by 54.3 per cent year – on – year.

Coal: The country’s export of coal reached 107,000 tons valued at $ 11.42 million in October and 1.53 million tons worth of $ 162 billion in the first 10 months of this year, down by 65.4 per cent over the same period last year.

Rice: The country’s export of rice hit $ 859,000 tons in October, rose sharply by 82.9 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of rice in the first 10 months of this year to 5.36 million tons worth of $ 2.28 billion, down by 3.9 per cent in quantity and 11.1 per cent in value year – on - year.

By the end of October, the country’s export of rice to China reached 1.95 million tons, up by 7.2 per cent; to the Philippines reached 919,000 tons, down by 26.8 per cent; to Malaysia – 476,000 tons, up by 11.5 per cent; and to Ghana – 320,000 tons, up by 16.8 per cent year – on – year.

Coffee: : The export of coffee was at 89,000 tons worth of $ 171 million in October, up by 2.6 per cent in quantity and 2.5 per cent in value month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total coffee exports in the first 10 months of this year to over 1 million tons valued at $ 2.14 billion, down by 29.3 per cent in quantity and 31.1 per cent in value year – on - year.

Seafood: The country’s export of seafood hit $ 676 million in October, up by 7.4 per cent month – on – month. The figure brought the country’s total export of seafood in the first 10 months of this year to $ 5.43 billion, down by 16.9 per cent year – on - year.

By the end of October, the country’s export of seafood to the U.S reached $ 1.07 billion, down by 25.2 per cent; to EU – 978 million, down by 17.2 per cent; to Japan – $ 848 million, down by 13.3 per cent; and to South Korea - $ 160 million, down by 13.6 per cent over the same period last year.
