AsemconnectVietnam - The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Singapore totaled US$ 5.1 billion in the first six months of this year, slightly increased by 3.2 per cent over the same period last year, according to the figures of the General Department of Customs.

Of the figure, the country exported $ 1.6 billion worth of goods to and imported $ 3.5 billion worth of goods from Singapore.

The key items exported by the country to Singapore included crude oil; computers, electronic products and components; leading by crude oil with the export turnover of $ 399.3 million, rose sharply by 58.71 per cent. It was followed by computers, electronic products and components with $ 209.2 million, down by 7.3 per cent year – on – year; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts - $ 173.8 million, up by 17.37 per cent. 

The major commodities imported by the country from Singapore were petroleum of all kinds – over $ 1.3 billion; computers, electronic products and components – over $ 1 billion; plastics - $ 138.3 million; and paper of all kinds - $ 82.3 million.
