Vietnam runs nearly $438m trade surplus in Nov

Accordingly, in November, the whole country’s export turnover reached $13.23 billion, down six percent from October. The import turnover in November touched $12.79 billion, down 9.1 percent month-on-month. Therefore, in November, the country ran a trade surplus of $437.6 million.
The group of export items attaining highest value in November was telephones and accessories with $2.5 billion, up 12.9 percent from October; the textile and garment with $1.56 billion, down 20 percent month-on-month and computers; electronic products and components with $1.51 million, up 10.1 percent. There were 10/46 group of items having the export turnover to increase in November from the previous month.
Machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts are the group of items having the largest import value in Vietnam in 11 months with more than $2 billion, down 10.3 percent from October, followed by computers, electronic products and accessories with import value of $1.86 billion, down 0.6 percent from October. There were 12/54 groups of items having the import turnover to increase in November compared to October.
The group of businesses having foreign direct investment (FDI) exported $8.93 billion in November, down 1.9 percent from the previous month, equivalent to approximately 67.5 percent of the country’s total export value in the previous month. FDI businesses in November imported $7.62 billion of goods, reckoning for about 58.6 percent of the total imports.
