Pepper exports increased sharply in 7 months
Friday, August 29,2014AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s export of pepper was estimated at 9,000 tons valued at US$ 74 million in July and 119,000 tons worth of $ 862 million in the first seven months of this year, increased by nearly 29 per cent in volume and 42 per cent in value over the same period of 2013, according to Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA).
The average pepper export price in the first six months of this year was at $ 7,156 per ton, up by nearly 9 per cent year – on – year.
According to VPA, Vietnam’s pepper export may reach $ 1 billion this year and the country still remains the world biggest pepper exporter.
