AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam exported US$ 910.13 million worth of goods to Belgium in the first six months of this year, increased sharply by 42.67 per cent over the same period last year, according to the statistics figures.

Belgium is the country’s important market in EU. The major items exported by Vietnam to Belgium mostly footwear; textiles and garments; seafood and handbags. Belgium also imports construction stones, furniture, coal, rubber and coffee from Vietnam.

Footwear was leading in the list of items exported by the country to Belgium in the first half of this year with the turnover of $ 333.39 million, up by 33.12 per cent over the same period last year.

Last year, Vietnam exported $ 516.4 million worth of footwear to Belgium, accounted for 38.9 per cent of the total and increased by 27.64 per cent over the year of 2012.

Vietnam’s export of coffee to Belgium rose sharply by 151.67 per cent in volume and 136.34 per cent in value year – on – year.

The export of iron and steel to Belgium skyrocketed by 349.49 per cent to $ 25.3 million.
