Vietnam to speed up imports of glass products from Thailand in first 2 months
Tuesday, April 7,2020AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's imports of goods from Thailand in February of 2020 increased sharply by 57.82 per cent to over 1 million USD but the total import value in the first two months of the year still dropped by 10.1 per cent to only 1.69 million USD.
Vietnam has stepped up imports of glass and glass products in February of 2020, making the total import value of this item sharply increased by 828.18 per cent over the previous month and bringing the total import value of the first two months of the year to 47.09 million USD, up by 504.77 per cent over the same period last year; rubber increased by 213.38 per cent to 44.32 million USD; paper products increased by 129.01 per cent to reach 24.71 million USD; pesticides and raw materials increased by 298.14 per cent to 19.65 million USD; other petroleum products increased by 106.78 per cent to reach 14.3 million USD; fertilizers of all kinds increased by 337.79 per cent; gemstones, precious metals and products increased by 105.44 per cent over the same period last year.
In contrast, Vietnam also reduced imports of many products from the Thai market such as textile, garment, leather and footwear materials by 11.45 per cent; fabric of all types decreased by 52.28 per cent; wood and wooden products down by 26.08 per cent; vegetable and fruit products by 90.01 per cent; aromatics, cosmetics and hygiene preparations fell by 93.31 per cent; medicine decreased by 99.4 per cent.
