Vietnam got over US$3 billion of surplus in trade exchange with Britain in 9 months
Friday, October 19,2018AsemconnectVietnam - The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Britain totaled US$4.8 billion in the first nine months of this year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Of the figure, the country exported $4.2 billion worth of goods to; and imported $594.6 million worth of goods from Britain, up by 9.68 per cent and 14.56 per cent year – on – year.
So in the first nine months, Vietnam got over $3.7 billion of surplus in trade exchange with Britain.
Telephones and components were leading the list of items exported by Vietnam to Britain in the first nine months of this year with $1.6 billion, up by 15.08 per cent and accounted for 38.7 per cent.
It was followed by textiles and garments with $579.2 million, up by 743 per cent; and footwear - $483.3 million, down by 5.77 per cent over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the exports of iron and steel products to Britain increased by 73.49 per cent; rubber – up by 40.11 per cent and precious stones, metals and products – up by 53 per cent to $46.8 million; $12.9 million; and $2.7 million, respectively year – on – year.
However, the exports of pepper to Britain increased by 7.63 per cent in quantity and decreased by 34.34 per cent over the same period last year to 3,500 tons worth of $14.9 million.

Vietnam also imported pharmaceuticals, iron and steel scraps, chemical products; and machines, equipment and spare parts, etc from Britain.
