Imports from South Korea totaled US$31.05 billion in eight months
Monday, October 15,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s imports of goods from South Korea in the first eight months of this year increased by 3.3 per cent over the same period last year to over US$31.05 billion, accounted for 20.2 per cent of the country’s total import value, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
Computers, electronics and components were the leading item imported by the country from South Korea in the first eight months of this year with the imports value of $11.35 billion, up by 37.5 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 36.6 per cent of the total.
It was followed by machines, equipment and spare parts with $4.14 billion, down by 46 per cent; and then telephones and components - $3.45 billion, up by 1.4 per cent; fabrics - $1.45 billion, up by 9.2 per cent; petroleum - $1.58 billion, up by 34.9 per cent; plastic products - $1.15 billion, up by 10.2 per cent; ordinary metals - $1.01 billion, up by 5.8 per cent; and plastics - $1.08 billion, up by 15.2 per cent.
In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s imports of gas from South Korea increased sharply by 150.9 per cent to $3.53 million; cameras, camcorders and components – up by 124.8 per cent to $343.82 million; cotton – up by 102.2 per cent to $4.39 million; ores and minerals – up by 82.8 per cent to $10.86 million; fruits and vegetables – up by 93.8 per cent to $14.42 million; pharmaceutical materials – up by 72.3 per cent to $3.78 million.
