Exports of footwear saw growth in eight months
Tuesday, September 25,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of footwear of all kinds in the first eight months of this year increased by 10 per cent over the same period last year to over US$10.5 billion, accounted for 6.7 per cent of the total, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
The country’s exports of footwear to the U.S accounted for 36 per cent of the total with $3.81 billion, up by 13.4 per cent over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the exports to the EU reached $3.03 billion, up by 0.6 per cent; to Belgium - $617.84 million, up by 4.5 per cent; to Germany - $591.34 million, down by 7.8 per cent; to Britain – over $435.73 million, down by 4.8 per cent; to the Netherlands - $415.44 million, up by 9.8 per cent; to France - $343.17 million, up by 0.7 per cent; to Canada - $218.5 million, up by 14 per cent.
In the period, the exports of footwear to China reached $967.91 million, up by 30 per cent year – on – year; to Japan - $577.92 million, up by 15.1 per cent; and to South Korea - $340.87 million, up by 26.2 per cent.
In the first eight months of this year, the country’s exports of footwear of all kinds to Portugal increased sharply by 97.8 per cent to $3.1 million; to India – up by 60.5 per cent to $64.91 million; and to Argentina – up by 39.7 per cent to $68.08 million.
However, the exports to Austria reached $17.66 million, down by 24.9 per cent year – on – year; to the U.A.E - $68.22 million, down by 20.6 per cent; to Denmark - $23.21 million, down by 20.2 per cent.
