Imports of animal feed and materials increased 13% in eight months
Sunday, September 16,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam imported US$302 million worth of animal feed and materials in August, increased by 30.08 per cent over the previous month and but up by 30.51 per cent over the same month of last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
It was followed by Argentina with over $46 million in August, down by 13.65 per cent month – on – month and by 64.48 per cent over the same month of last year. The figure brought the country’s total imports of animal feed and materials from the U.S in the first eight months of this year to over $746 million, down by 30.64 per cent year – on – year.
Meanwhile, the imports animal feed and materials from Brazil reached over $31 million in August, up by 340.4 per cent month – on – month and by 700.6 per cent year – on – year. The total imports of animal feed and materials from China in the first eight months of this year reached over $326 million, increased by 321.48 per cent year – on – year.

Soybean: Vietnam’s imports of soybean reached 124,000 tons worth of over $54 million in August and over 1.1 million tons worth of $498 million in the first 8 months of this year, decreased by 3.86 per cent in quantity and increased by 2.13 per cent in value compared with the same period of 2017.
Corn: The imports of corn reached over 631,000 tons worth of $138 million in August and over 6 million tons worth of $1.2 billion in the first 8 months of this year, increased by 26.08 per cent in quantity and 30.02 per cent in value compared with the same period of 2017.
