The average export price of plastics in the first five months of this year was at $ 956.3 per ton, down by 21 per cent year - on -year.

China was the leading export market of plastics of Vietnam in the period with 262,095 tons worth of $ 194.76 million, accounted for 54.6 per cent of the total and rocketed by 364 per cent in quantity and 279.6 per cent in value compared with the same period last year.

Indonesia ranked second with 20,993 tons worth of $ 31.6 million, down by 49.7 per cent in quantity and 41.8 per cent in value; then India - 15,347 tons worth of $ 18.64 million, up by 89.8 per cent in quantity and 112.5 per cent in value.

In the first five months of this year, besides China, the country’s exports of plastics to Japan also increased sharply by 426 per cent in quantity and 267.8 per cent in value to 12,471 tons worth of $ 15.4 million; to South Korea - up by 83.1 per cent in quantity and 131.5 per cent in value to 5,259 tons worth of $ 9.58 million; to Singapore - up by 74.4 per cent in quantity and 52.9 per cent in value to 839 tons worth of $ 1.41 million.

However, the exports of plastics to Indonesia fell sharply by 41.8 per cent to $ 31.6 million; to Turkey - down by 14.3 per cent to $ 0.44 million; and to Taiwan - down by 5.4 per cent to $ 4.94 million.
