Telephones and components were leading the list of items exported by the country to Hong Kong in the first 5 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 916.01 million, down by 3.8 per cent compared with the same period last year. It was followed by computers, electronics and components with $ 827.88 million, up by 21.9 per cent; and then cameras, camcorders and components with $ 487.24 million, up by 39.4 per cent; machines, equipment and spare parts - $ 378.02 million, up by 12.3 per cent year – on – year.

 

In the first five months of this year, the country’s exports of iron and steel to Hong Kong increased sharply by 215.4 per cent compared with the same period last year to $ 335,222; while the exports of plastic products – up by 159.3 per cent to $ 23.66 million; rice – up by 49 per cent to $ 18.46 million; cashew nuts – up by 47.3 per cent to $ 8.06 million; non – wooden furniture – up by 40.4 per cent to $ 0.72 million; cameras, camcorders and components – up by 39.4 per cent to $ 487.24 million.

However, the exports of ordinary metals and products to Hong Kong fell by 60.3 per cent to $ 5.57 million; wood and furniture – down by 58.8 per cent to $ 2.84 million; and chemical products – down by 28.8 per cent to $ 3.71 million.
