Exports to China and India saw year – on – year growth in four months

Exports to China totaled nearly US$ 11 billion in four months
Vietnam’s exports of goods to China reached US$ 10.979 billion in the first four months of this year, increased by $ 2.685 billion compared with the same period of 2017, showed the latest statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
In the period, the country’s exports of computers, electronics and components to China reached $ 2.349 billion while the exports of telephones and components reached $ 1.79 billion, up by 5.2 times compared with the same period last year.
The country’s exports of fruits and vegetables to China also increased to $ 989 million in the first four months, compared with $ 760 million in the first four months of 2017.
The other items exported by the country to China in the period were fibers of all kinds - $ 646 million; cameras, camcorders and components - $ 592.6 million; machines, equipment and spare parts -$ 449 million.
Exports to India increased sharply by 104 per cent in first four months
Vietnam’s exports of goods in the first four months of this year reached US$ 2.1 billion, increased sharply by 104 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
By the end of April, there were 5 items that earned the export turnover of over $ 100 million. Means of transport and spare parts were leading with nearly $ 109 million; machines, equipment and spare parts – nearly $ 710 million.
In the first four months of this year, the country’s exports of cashew nuts to India fell in quantity and in value; but the average cashew export price reached $ 6,956.43 per ton; while the iron and steel export price fell by 18.51 per cent year – on – year to $ 138.53 per ton.
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam got $ 359 million of deficit in trade exchange with India.
