Seafood exports increased
Tuesday, March 20,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s exports of seafood reached US$ 1.07 billion in the first two months of this year, increased by over 17 per cent year – on – year, showed the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs.
It was followed by the U.S with $ 164.74 million, up by 7.8 per cent; and then Japan – nearly $ 159.32 million, up by 6.5 per cent; China – over $ 111.46 million, up by 26.9 per cent.
The country’s exports of seafood to the South East Asian countries accounted for 8.6 per cent of the total with $ 92.67 million, up by 25.2 per cent year – on – year.
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of seafood to Cambodia increased sharply by 145.7 per cent to $ 4.03 million; to Brunei – up by 112.3 per cent to $ 0.3 million; to Turkey – up by 110.7 per cent to $ 0.92 million; and to Iraq – up by 107.8 per cent to $ 1.03 million.
However, the exports of seafood to Indonesia fell sharply by 67.2 per cent to $ 0.42 million; to Spain – down by 34.6 per cent; to Ukraine – down by 31 per cent; and to Brazil – down by 30.9 per cent.
