The average rice export price in 2017 was at $ 451.9 per ton, up by 0.7 per cent compared with 2016.

Last year, the country exported 2.29 million tons of rice worth of $ 1.03 billion to China, increased by 31.8 per cent in quantity and 31.4 per cent in value compared with the previous year, and accounted for 39 per cent of the country’s total rice exports in 2017.

Meanwhile, the exports of rice to the Philippines reached 552,854 tons worth of $ 222.58 million, up by 38.4 per cent in quantity and 26 per cent in value compared with 2016.  

The exports of rice to Malaysia increased sharply by 97.3 per cent in quantity and 79.4 per cent in value to 532,226 tons worth of $ 210 million.

Last year, the country’s exports of rice to Senegal rocketed by 72 times in quantity and 38 times in value compared with the previous year to 24.963 tons worth of $ 8.18 million.

The exports of rice to Iraq also rocketed by 697 per cent in quantity and 919 per cent in value to 128,035 tons worth of $ 69.16 million.

However, the country’s exports of rice to Belgium, South Africa, Indonesia, the Netherlands and Poland decreased sharply by 50 to 95 per cent compared with 2016.
