Exports to Japan increased
Monday, January 15,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Japan is now the third biggest export market of Vietnam. In the first 11 months of last year, the country’s exports of goods to Japan reached US$ 15.34 billion, increased by 15.6 per cent over the same period of 2016.
Textiles and garments were leading the list of items exported by the country to Japan in the first 11 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 2.8 billion, up by 7 per cent and accounted for 18 per cent of the total. It was followed by means of transport with $ 1.97 billion, up by 14.5 per cent; and machines, equipment and spare parts with $ 1.57 billion, up by 9.8 per cent; seafood - $ 1.19 billion, up by 20 per cent; wood and furniture - $ 929.37 million, up by 5.1 per cent; telephones and spare parts - $ 748.22 million, up by 108.6 per cent; footwear - $ 673.07 million, up by 10.5 per cent; computers, electronics and components - $ 646.27 million, up by 9.4 per cent.
In the first 11 months of 2017, Vietnam’s exports of telephones and spare parts to Japan increased sharply by 108.6 per cent to $ 748.22 million; crude oil – up by 109 per cent to $ 322.12 million; coal – up by 126.5 per cent to $ 112.48 million; iron and steel – up by 273 per cent to $ 22.16 million; fertilizer – up by 114.4 per cent to $ 2.35 million.
However, the exports of pepper to Japan decreased by 31 per cent to $ 18.16 million; cassava and products – down by 22.8 per cent to $ 12.06 million; technical fabrics – down by 8 per cent to $ 31.5 million.
