Vietnam got US$ 3 billion of surplus in trade exchange with Britain

According to the figures of the General Department of Customs, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and Britain reached nearly US$ 5 billion in the first ten months of this year. Of the figure, Vietnam exported $ 4.2 billion worth of goods to, and imported $ 582.6 million worth of goods from Britain.
Cell phones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Britain in the first ten months of this year with the export turnover of $ 1.6 billion, up by 6.82 per cent year – on - year and accounted for 63.5 per cent of the total. It was followed by textiles and garments with $ 588 million, down by 0.23 per cent; and then footwear of all kinds - with $ 571 million, up by 12.25 per cent.
In the first ten months of this year, the country’s exports of iron and steel to Britain reached 75,500 tons worth of $ 51.9 million, up by 44.5 folds in quantity and 14.9 folds in value over the same period last year.
The exports of electric wires and cables to Britain rocketed by 500.28 per cent to $ 6.3 million while the exports of machines, equipment and spare parts also increased sharply by 106.31 per cent.
However, in the period, the country’s exports of fruit and vegetables to Britain decreased by 29.97 per cent; and confectinery and grain products and grain products – down by 11.16 per cent.
