Chinese museum displays President Ho Chi Minh’s photos
Friday, December 14,2018AsemconnectVietnam - The Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History is running an exhibition of photos of late President Ho Chi Minh in China from December 5, 2018 to January 6, 2019.
The photo exhibition is in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong as part of the partnership between the Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History and the Hanoi-based Ho Chi Minh Museum.
On display at the exhibition “Following President Ho Chi Minh’s footsteps in China” are photos of the Vietnamese revolutionary leader during his time in China since he left Moscow to live in Guangzhou during the 1920s, using the name Li Rui.
In Guangzhou, he served as an interpreter and secretary for Mikhail Borodin, a political advisor for the forerunner of democratic revolution in China – Sun Zhongshan. The Chinese city was also where President Ho Chi Minh founded the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth League to train many Vietnamese youths who became the seeds of the revolutionary movement in Vietnam.
The photos also tell stories about his time in Guangxi where he met with China’s first premier Zhou Enlai and in Hangzhou where he met Chairman Mao Zedong.
The Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou sees the exhibition as an important event to inspire Vietnamese people, particularly youngsters, to learn from the late president. It has organised a number of tours to the exhibition for Vietnamese expats and students living in Guangzhou.
The event is also expected to improve ties between Vietnam and China.
