Nokia sees Vietnam as key market

AsemconnectVietnam - A representative of HMD Global, the maker of Nokia-branded mobile phones, has confirmed that Vietnam is a key market for Nokia owing to its robust growth for both basic phones and smartphones.
Speaking at the launch ceremony of two new products in HCMC, Kyler Tan, general director of HMD Global Vietnam, noted that Nokia was continuing to expand its presence in Vietnam.
On returning to Vietnam, Nokia was listed among the top five smartphone manufacturers in the local market. Besides launching new smartphone products, Nokia also invests in and supports its retail partners.
The representative of Nokia pointed out that the company will keep its Google-based Android operating system unchanged in future versions of Nokia smartphones to rapidly roll out new products.
At the event, HMD Global launched the Nokia 2.1, equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, larger than the previous version of Nokia 2, and a long battery life, as well as the Nokia 3.1, with a 5.2-inch screen and a strong configuration.
Earlier, HMD Global told local media that the company would make Nokia Vietnam’s leading brand of Android-operated smartphones.
