Moreover, Bosch last year increased its workforce in Vietnam by 20% and currently employs close to 3,700 associates in the country. This number is projected to grow by more than 60%, reaching 2,600 associates in 2020.

“For some years now, we have steadily expanded our software and engineering expertise and capacity in the area of connectivity to offer more user-centric solutions for the Vietnamese market,” said managing director of Bosch Vietnam Mallikarjuna Guru, adding that the group will make HCMC one of its key Internet of Things (IoT) solution hubs in Southeast Asia through Bosch’s Software and Engineering R&D center in HCMC, which was set up in 2010.

Two Bosch centers in HCMC---the Software and Engineering R&D center and Automotive R&D center---have started taking over projects with higher responsibilities for Bosch customers worldwide, an indicator of the capacity of the Vietnamese workforce to take part in the Bosch Group’s global value chain.

To support the growing demand in the country, Bosch has invested nearly 58 million euros in Vietnam in 2018.

Bosch has diversified businesses in Vietnam, including the automotive aftermarket, automotive electronics, drive and control technology, packaging technology, power tools, and building technologies.

On June 12, Bosch held an IoT conference to showcase its smart solutions in certain fields, such as smart agriculture, connected buildings, factory of the future and urban mobility.
