Meanwhile, Danang City will have policies to support Vietnam Airlines in operating new routes to the city, and connect VNA to travel companies in the city to promote air ticket sales.

In addition, a publicity program for Vietnam Airlines will be organized by Danang, including introduction of the airline’s services on outdoor billboards, on TV and in newspapers in the city, while tourist sites in Danang will be reciprocally introduced by the airline at global fairs and on its publications.

Vietnam Airlines currently operates more than 10 direct air services to Danang with over 400 flights a week, connecting the city with other domestic and international destinations.

Besides, VNA has cooperated with the city in many tourism, trade and investment promotion events such as Danang International Tourism Fair, Danang International Fireworks Festival and a conference to encourage tourists to visit the central region. During the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, Vietnam Airlines carried delegates from 21 member economies to the city.

At the cooperation agreement signing ceremony, Danang Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said the partnership would help the city promote tourism, call for investment and connect with other parts of the country. He expected the agreement would be implemented effectively, benefiting both sides.

Last year, Danang welcomed 6.6 million tourists, up nearly 20% year-on-year, including nearly 1.6 million tourists traveling by plane, surging over 74.4%. Last year saw a milestone in the city’s aviation sector as international terminal T2 with an annual capacity of six million passengers was officially put into operation at Danang airport.
