USG Boral adds US$20 million investment

AsemconnectVietnam - USG Boral, a leading producer of building materials, announced on December 7 to invest an additional US$20 million in its plant at Hiep Phuoc Industrial Zone in Nha Be District, HCMC.
The plant’s annual plasterboard production capacity will increase by 17 million to 47 million square meters when expansion work is done in September 2019.
The project is aimed at meeting the increasing demand for high-quality plasterboards in the local construction sector.
Frederic de Rougemont, CEO of USG Boral, said the firm has posted strong growth in Vietnam, hence the additional investment. With the expansion project, USG Boral will apply its latest Sheetrock technology to provide superior building solutions for the Vietnamese market.
USG Boral is the first multinational to establish a plasterboard production facility in Vietnam, with operations starting in 2006. Their flagship products include Sheetrock, FireBloc, Durock and Fiberock.
